How did the word 'Prime' for Prime Numbers originated ?

Answer :
It is originated from the Latin word primus, meaning first in importance. Prime are the important main ingredient of numbers, for every number is either a prime or a product of primes.
Prime number is divisible only by 1 and itself.
For Example,
2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, 29 etc.
The property of being a prime is called primality, and the word prime is also used as an adjective. Two is the only even prime number so the term odd prime refers to any prime number greater than two.
Prime numbers and their properties were first studied extensively by the ancient Greek mathematicians.
