Question :
How does it relate to the Distributive Law of Multiplications ?

Answer :
There is no relationship really. This means altogether another thing. Distributive Law of Multiplications means that the multiplication of a compound expression by a factor is the sum of the partial product of each terms of the expression by the factor.
For Example :
(a + b + c)d = ad + bd + cd
