What does 'Commutative Law' mean ?

Answer :
A binary operation obeys a commutative law, such as addition and multiplication on the real or complex numbers. It can also be termed as Abelian operation.
The first use of the term commutative was in a memoir by Francois Servois in 1814, which used the word commutatives when describing functions.
They can be stated as :
Quantities to be added or multiplied can be combined in any order
In symbols,
a + b = b + a    &    ab = ba
For example,
3 + 6 = 6 + 3    &    2 x 4 = 4 x 2
